In Memory of Coltrane, at the Rainbow Bridge:
March 5, 2010
Coltrane was only with us three months before he passed away in his sleep one night. He was a sweet but feisty old man with a very high opinion of himself and never failed to remind the other hounds of it. He had a mouth like an alligator that he used to make his point, although he was smart enough not to get into any actual combat. He always sought out the most comfortable beds and loved to roll around on his back, offering himself up for belly rubs. And when we had the big Snowmageddon in February 2010, he never let a few feet of snow keep him from making his rounds in the yard. He was quite a character and I am richer for knowing him.
